Shuyang is a long way from home – she's traveled from China to New York's School of Visual Art to our animation wonderland bring a new perspective and mad skills . 

What inspires you?
Good movies and animation.

Why did you pick a career in animation?
I eventually want to take part in making a great animated movie.

Thoughts about Portland?
So many trees. It's so great.

What's your guilty pleasure?
Watching Netflix the night before my school project is due.

When will you know that you're successful?
When I make enough money to buy a house.

What’s your biggest failure so far?
I can't swim.

When you were 6, what did you think you’d would be when you grew up?
A marine biologist.
